UpTown Cares is proud to partner with the Peggy Beatrice Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to restoring communities one family at a time. The Peggy Beatrice Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by Pierre Johnson, named after his two grandmothers — Gramma Peggy and Gramma Beatrice. The foundation serves unsheltered individuals and families in Skid Row and Downtown Los Angeles, providing meals, water, clothing, hygiene products, and pathways out of homelessness.
While the foundation focuses on meals, supplies, and support programs for unsheltered communities, UpTown Cares brings clean water access to families across Southern California. Together, we share a commitment to uplifting the people and neighborhoods we serve.

UpTown Cares began with a simple belief: every family deserves access to clean, safe water. What started as a chance conversation with two young men on the street opened our eyes to the water filtration space — and what we found was eye-opening. As we spent time inside homes, speaking directly with families and learning about their day-to-day experiences, one thing became clear: many households were relying on water that didn't meet the standard they deserved. That realization shifted everything. This wasn't just an opportunity — it was a responsibility. So we made a decision to build solutions that could make a real difference. In partnership with the Peggy Beatrice Foundation, we've been able to expand our reach and serve even more families across Southern California. From under-sink units to whole-home systems, our focus has been on providing clean, reliable water that families can trust.
